Philosophy/Mission:  To foster an environment of respect, responsibility, and compassion for all animals through education, legislation, and leadership.  To care for the homeless, to defend the abused, and to fight with unrelenting diligence for recognition of the integrity of all animals. 

Claim to Fame/Signature Product or Service:  Manages the Investigations Department’s criminal animal cruelty cases from citation through prosecution, works as the department’s liaison with district attorneys throughout the state, drafts and presents testimony during the legislative session in support of animal protection bills, supervises the legal internship program, writes policy for the department, conducts trainings for other law enforcement agencies, and assists on large scale seizures with evidence collection and documentation. 

Community Involvement, Special Notes:  Member of the America Bar Association, Oregon State Bar Association, Multnomah Bar Association, National Cruelty Investigation School, ASPCA Hurricane Sandy Emergency Shelter Responder, FEMA certified Incident Command System.  Emily spends her spare time running, shopping, volunteering for Family Dogs New Life, and relaxing with her husband, Ethan, and her four-legged family members:  Ramona, Dually and Esio Trot.
